Candidate on BBC The Apprentice - Season 15 - 2019
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant by profession and now turned Entrepreneur! I was a candidate on BBC The Apprentice - Season 15 - 2019 and am grateful for being one of the 16 selected from a pool of almost 100,000 applicants.
Business Decoded was formed because I am passionate about personal development and sharing my story so others can learn and be inspired. Also, I felt there was a need for a one-stop shop for all businesses, both nationally and internationally, where they could go for a reliable, tailored public speaking service, with a personal touch.
My beginnings are very humble and the journey has been long with a lot of hard work, sweat and grit but because of it I feel proud when looking back and seeing how far I have come. Parents tell me they give their kids my example and others tell me that they look up to me as a role model and want to be like me.
I was brought up on a Council estate by my single Mother, from a Pakistani heritage. Being the youngest of 4 siblings I had no positive role models as everyone around me was happy on benefits, did not study at all and had no ambitions. I loved studying and did well educationally from securing 10 GCSE's (all A's and B's), A-Levels, Scholarship at University to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and then appearing as a Candidate on BBC The Apprentice 2019. Plus, to mention I am a Wife and a Mother and have two very small kids a 3-year-old and a 21-month-old and I am completely independent and the main bread winner. Also, I am writing a book (autobiography) planned to be released end of this year or early next year.
I always had a growth mindset and loved learning and studying. Ambition is in my blood and I feel its my calling to big and great things before I die, that will also benefit others. I was a School Governor of a developing primary school in Luton and also Trustee/Treasurer of a women’s charity ‘Stepping Stones’.
I am a very down to earth individual and like to keep things real. People close to me may say I am straight talking but find my honesty refreshing and know they can come to me for an honest, reliable and valuable opinion.
Being open minded and taking each day as it comes is something I embrace. I want to make the most of the beautiful life I have been given and feel that challenges and overcoming them are an important part of personal development.
One of my favourite quotes:
"Great things never come from comfort zones"
